Support extended for quake-affected homeowners

The Residential Advisory Service (RAS) has been extended until 30 June 2018, to ensure homeowners can access support to resolve their claims.
Minister for Greater Christchurch Regeneration Dr Megan Woods announced an additional $700,000 of funding so quake affected homeowners can continue to access free and independent legal, technical and brokering assistance to progress their insurance claims.
There remains a strong demand for RAS in Canterbury where many of the remaining claims are complex, and the RAS brokering model has proven effective in dealing with these cases.
RAS support has also been extended to Hurunui, Kaikōura and Marlborough, as homeowners affected by the 2016 Kaikōura earthquake negotiate with insurers.
